Calling all 7th-12th Graders…Start the New Year off with a BANG!
Come together with your friends in a unique High Holy Day Worship experience designed especially for you! Join Rabbi Locketz in the Beit HaT’fila at 11:45 (this service will coincide with the 2nd service in the main sanctuary) on both Rosh HaShana and Yom Kippur for a prayer extravaganza that will welcome in the year 5771 with style!

For the second year, we will be having Temple Emanuel’s Sukkah Hop Oct. 19. If you are interested in receiving a Sukkah this year, please contact the office @ 412.279.7600 ASAP.
On recommendation of the Worship Committee and our Rabbis, Temple Emanuel Board of Trustees has authorized the purchase of 500 Mishkan T’filah Shabbat Prayer Books.

A second Chevre Kadisha ("Holy Society" involved in Jewish burial practices) has been formed in Pittsburgh and we are in need of volunteers.
There are a myriad of worship activities at Temple, truly something to suit everyone and anyone: a variety of erev Shabbat services (Family, Kol Emanuel, Kabbalat and now a new Temple band), Torah study and Shabbat morning services, Havdalah at the Mahlers’, Torah for Tots, Tu B’Shevat this month.
A second Temple Emanuel Shabbat band, the Mahler Family Band, debuted at our Feb. 23 Shabbat service.
Copies of the Rabbis' sermons are available in the Temple office.

The Worship Committee offers a menu of Shabbat worship services that it hopes will satisfy each congregant’s taste, including a family service, a Kol Emanuel service featuring Temple's own band performing contemporary Jewish music, and a service featuring the new Mahler Family Band.
The congregation is invited to attend Temple Emanuel's "Shabbat La Mispacha" (Shabbat for the Family) dinners. They are held at 6:30 p.m. on the first Friday night of each month during the school year, followed by the Family Shabbat Service at 7:30 p.m. in the Sanctuary.
If you need transportation or if you can offer a ride to Shabbat services or Temple activities, contact Claire Gerhardt at (412) 279-5093.
Temple Emanuel is looking for capable babysitters to help out during Shabbat evening services. Interested teenagers will be paid $10 per service and are asked to commit to one Shabbat per month. Call Lori Blattner in the Temple office at (412) 279-7600 for more information.
Contact the Temple office at 412-279-7600 by 3 p.m. prior to Friday Shabbat services to arrange to listen to the services at home.
Please help continue the tradition of the Oneg Shabbat following all Friday evening services.

Temple Emanuel requests that cell phones and pagers be turned off in the Sanctuary and the Beit HaT'fila. In addition, photography is not permitted during worship services. Babysitting is available at all Friday night Shabbat services. Click here to learn more about the various Shabbat services offered here at Temple. Large-print prayerbooks and a braille prayerbook are available in the Sanctuary. Click here to learn more about Temple Emanuel's two prayer spaces, the Sanctuary and the Beit HaT'fila. The Beit HaT'fila was built in 2002 as part of Temple's extensive expansion project.
