Torah Center Advisory Board

The Torah Center Advisory Board’s purpose is to determine objectives, policies and standards for the Temple Emanuel Torah Center and to assist the Temple Educator in incorporating these into operating decisions.

The Torah Center Advisory Board has the following responsibilities and objectives:

  • Review and update policies and procedures on an ongoing basis;
  • Assist the Educator in establishing and updating curriculum and programming;
  • Provide guidance and assistance in administering faculty and staff; and
  • Provide input and oversight on financial matters.

This past year, the board’s focus was on developing the new program for the South Hills Jewish Community High School in collaboration with Beth El Congregation. We made progress in other areas as well; working to develop a project based curriculum for Torah Center, looking into programs for encouraging parent participation and for continuing involvement in the Torah Center (and here at Temple!) after B’nei Mitzvah.
