WHAT WE’LL DO
We will read inspiring passages and blessings and sample symbolic foods from trees (e.g., pomegranate, figs, dates, nuts, olives, berries, grapes). Tu B’Shevat, named for the 15th day of Shevat, is the New Year of the Trees and is a time to celebrate trees, nature, and our connection with Earth.
TU B’SHEVAT SEDER – A QUICK BACKGROUND
“In the 16th century, Kabbalists, the Jewish mystics, created this seder with songs, readings, wine and fruits. Like the Passover seder, this one uses experiential learning, four cups of wine, and special foods. Each cup of wine represents different aspects of the fruit tree and of ourselves. As the seder progresses, we change the color of the wine in the cups (like the changing of the seasons) from the whiteness of winter to the fullness of spring.” –From PJ Library (www.pjlibrary.org)

The Rosh Chodesh Adar Gathering will be on Sunday, February 10 (7:00 to 9:00 p.m.) at the home of Stacy Tafeen, and the topic will be Creating Joy in our Lives.
ABOUT ROSH CHODESH
The Rosh Chodesh gatherings will be stand-alone events, so this is not a group to join. Each gathering will have a positive and encouraging environment, and women of all ages and levels of Jewish knowledge and experience are welcome. It won’t be the same without you, so please RSVP to email@example.com or 412.279.7600. And if anyone is interested, there will be opportunities to host and/or plan future gatherings.
