Movies & Munchies
January 28 @ 1:00 pm - 3:00 pm
MARK YOUR CALENDARS for Movies and Munchies for the coming year…
We have a great line-up of Monday movies for the 2018-19 season. You will laugh, cry (from happy endings), and thoroughly enjoy our movies and camaraderie.
We will start the year off on October 22nd with the film Paper Clips. It has been shown to high school classes, but not to the adult population that attends on Monday afternoons. Rating is at least one tissue, maybe two!
Next, on Monday, November 26th, we have another inspiring story, Nicky’s Family. This also has been shown to our students, but has not been on the adult afternoon movie schedule until now.
On Monday, January 28th, we will have more than a few laughs with Gene Wilder in The Frisco Kid. If you saw this movie, it was quite a while ago. It’s from 1979!
Cupcakes is a recent Israeli movie that is a lot of fun. It is subtitled and will be shown on Monday, February 25th.
On Monday, March 25th, we will have a double feature. Two movies that we have shown at one of our Deli Food and Film nights and one of our Foreign Food and Film dinners that a lot of people have missed and will enjoy are: The Sturgeon Queens and In the Shadow of the Acropolis. The first is about a New York deli called “Russ and Daughters”. The second is about the Greek Jewish community. These documentaries are not long, hence the double feature.
On Monday, April 22nd we will show Private Benjamin with Goldie Hawn, another oldie (1980) but goodie. I recently watched it again and still laughed out loud at some of the hilarious scenes!
Of course, there is always the possibility of a change, but don’t worry. There are so many good movies out there; you will still enjoy whatever we show! Remember all movies are free, open to the public, begin at 1 pm and come with M&Ms, popcorn and decaf coffee or tea!
