Larry Miller Caring Community
The Larry Miller Caring Community strives to provide direct, person-to-person services to Temple Emanuel Congregants in need. Dedicated volunteers have been instrumental in fulfilling the mission of providing outreach and fostering closeness and warmth within our community.
Each week, we check on our members who have recently returned home from the hospital and help them celebrate Shabbat by delivering Shabbat bags. These bags include challah, challah cover designed by our religious school students, candles, and a personal note letting our congregants know that they are in our thoughts and help is there if needed. We also send Kiddush cups to welcome Temple newborns into the community.
Our successful Bridging Generations program, spearheaded by Alice Mahler, continues to be a hit with seniors in our community. We participated in Temple’s Mitzvah Mall, helping teach religious school students the importance of charity. Committee members also continued an annual tradition of calling congregants to wish them a Happy New Year.
Our goal is to be there when anyone in our Temple community needs assistance. We hope to grow the role of this Caring Community at Temple. We can always use more help. Anyone interested in getting involved, please contact us!
